Samsung Galaxy Note8 has an overall score of 83, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Mi A3's 79.2 overall score. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Mi A3 has Android 11 version, offering a couple additional features. Despite being the best phone we compare here, Samsung Galaxy Note8 is an older, somewhat heavier and just a bit thicker phone than the Xiaomi Mi A3.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a brighter screen than Xiaomi Mi A3, because it has a way better resolution of 1440 x 2960, a little bigger display and a much better screen pixels density. Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Mi A3, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Galaxy Note8 also has 2 GB more RAM.

Xiaomi Mi A3 takes much better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for shooting photos and videos in low-light environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Xiaomi Mi A3 also counts with a bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a lot higher 48 megapixels resolution back facing camera.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 256 GB, the Xiaomi Mi A3 also has 64 GB more internal storage. Xiaomi Mi A3 counts with greater battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has a 4030mAh battery capacity.
