Comparison review
The Galaxy Note8 is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Mi Max, having an 83 score against 77.5. The Galaxy Note8 body is newer and just a little bit lighter than the Xiaomi Mi Max's, although it is also somewhat thicker. The Galaxy Note8 has a more vivid display than Xiaomi Mi Max, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a way higher 1440 x 2960 resolution and a way higher pixel count per inch in the display.
Xiaomi Mi Max counts with much more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 256 GB, the Xiaomi Mi Max also has 128 GB internal storage capacity. Galaxy Note8 counts with a little better performance than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Note8 also has a greater amount of RAM.
The Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max, because although it has a lower 3840x2160 video quality and a back camera with a much lower resolution, it also counts with a bigger aperture to take better images and video in low light situations. The Xiaomi Mi Max counts with a very superior battery lifetime than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 47% larger battery size.
