Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, with an 83 score against 81.1. These phones use Android operating system, but Galaxy Note8 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has Android 10, counting with some extra features and optimized performance. Although the Galaxy Note8 is much older than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, it's design is just a little bit thinner and a little bit lighter.
Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2960px and a higher display pixels density. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with a processor that is just as good as Galaxy Note8's processor, they have 6 GB of RAM and 8 cpu cores.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro captures much better photos and videos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also counts with a lot better resolution back-facing camera and a way bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with a little bit better memory for games and applications than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a way better battery lifetime than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 5020mAh battery capacity instead of 3300mAh.
Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, resigning a couple features and specifications.
