Comparison review

Galaxy Note8 has a score of 83, which is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S's overall score of 79. Both devices in this comparison review have Android operating system, but Galaxy Note8 has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has Android 11 version, so it provides some nice extra features. The Galaxy Note8 body is just a little thinner and a bit lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, although it was released many years before.

Galaxy Note8 features just a bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2960 resolution and a higher screen density. Galaxy Note8 has a little faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Galaxy Note8 also has 2 GB more RAM memory.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S counts with a better camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures and videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also counts with a camera in the back with lot more mega pixels and a much larger back-facing camera sensor providing a much higher image quality.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a slightly better storage capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a way better battery lifetime than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 52 percent bigger battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
