Galaxy Note 4's body is a lot newer and a little thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S III's, but it is a lot heavier. These devices use Android operating system, but Galaxy Note 4 has newer 5.0 version and Samsung Galaxy S III has Android 4.3, providing a lot of extra features and optimized performance.
