Samsung Galaxy Note8 is better than Samsung Galaxy S III, getting an 83 score against 74.8. Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a much heavier device than the Samsung Galaxy S III, but both are equally thin. Both of these phones have Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Samsung Galaxy S III has Android 4.3 version, giving some extra features and increased performance.

Galaxy Note8 features a bit better CPU than Samsung Galaxy S III, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with a greater number of cores and 4 GB more RAM. Galaxy Note8 features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy S III, because it has a much better 1440 x 2960 resolution, a lot better pixel quantity per inch in the screen and a really larger display.

The Galaxy Note8 counts with much more storage capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S III, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 256 GB and more internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a superior battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S III, because it has a 3300mAh battery size.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a better camera than Galaxy S III, because it has a back-facing camera with a lot higher resolution, a much better 3840x2160 video resolution, a bigger back camera sensor which offers a better photo and video quality and a much larger camera aperture to capture better captures and video in low-light situations.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S III, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S III. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Samsung Galaxy S III, resigning a couple specifications.
