Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy S III feature incredibly similar processing units, because although the Galaxy S7 edge has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, and they both have 4 cpu cores, it also counts with more RAM. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features a display that's very similar to the screen in Galaxy S III, although the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge also has a lot greater pixel density, a little bit larger display and a much better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

Galaxy S7 edge counts with a superior camera than Galaxy S III, because it has a larger camera sensor shooting better quality videos and photographs, a back-facing camera with a way higher 12 megapixels resolution, a much bigger camera aperture to take better captures and video in poorly lited environments and a way higher 3840x2160 video definition.

Although Galaxy S7 edge is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy S III, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S III. If you want to save some money, you can get the Galaxy S III, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
