The Xperia 5 II is much better than the Galaxy S III, having an 87.2 score against 74.8. Although the Xperia 5 II is heavier than the Galaxy S III, it's just a bit thinner and newer. The Sony Xperia 5 II counts with a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy S III, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, it also counts with more processing cores and 6 GB more RAM memory.

Galaxy S III features a bit sharper screen than Sony Xperia 5 II, although it has a really smaller display, a lot worse quantity of pixels per display inch and a lot lower resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The Sony Xperia 5 II has a very superior camera than Galaxy S III, because it has a way larger camera aperture, a lot larger sensor, a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution and a back-facing camera with lot more mega-pixels.

Xperia 5 II has a much better storage to store more games and applications than Galaxy S III, because it has a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 1000 GB and 128 GB internal storage. Xperia 5 II counts with a superior battery performance than Galaxy S III, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S III, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S III. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Sony Xperia 5 II, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy S III, resigning some features and specifications.
