The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max has a general score of 93.2, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy S20 FE's 90.8 overall score. The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max works with iOS 15.x OS, and Galaxy S20 FE comes with Android 11 OS. The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max body is somewhat heavier but somewhat thinner than Galaxy S20 FE, and both of them were released only 1 months apart.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a brighter screen than Galaxy S20 FE, because it has a just a little higher display density, a bit bigger screen and a slightly better 1284 x 2778 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE counts with a much greater memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than iPhone 12 Pro Max, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE also has an external memory card slot that holds up to 1000 GB.
IPhone 12 Pro Max has a quite superior performance than Galaxy S20 FE, because although it has 2 lesser processing cores (although they are faster), and they both have a 6 GB RAM memory, the iPhone 12 Pro Max also counts with a 64-bit CPU. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE captures just a bit better photographs and videos than iPhone 12 Pro Max, although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not so good for low light captures and video, they both have the same resolution back facing camera, the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same 60 fps video frame rates.
The Galaxy S20 FE has better battery life than iPhone 12 Pro Max, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3687mAh.
Although iPhone 12 Pro Max is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S20 FE, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S20 FE. So if you need that extra features, you can buy iPhone 12 Pro Max, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy S20 FE, giving up some features and specs.
