Galaxy S20 FE is much better than Google Pixel 3a XL, with a score of 90.8 against 78.9. Galaxy S20 FE's construction is newer, but somewhat heavier and a little thicker than Google Pixel 3a XL. These phones include the same Android 11 OS (Operating System), so both should provide identical OS features.
Galaxy S20 FE has a little bit better display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2400px, a little better display density and a little larger display. The Galaxy S20 FE has a little faster processor than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have 8 cores, the Galaxy S20 FE also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has much more storage to store more games and applications than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has more internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1000 GB. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE captures a bit better photographs and videos than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a camera with a lower 12 mega pixels resolution, and they both have a F1.8 diafragm aperture, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE also counts with a much larger sensor which provides a lot higher image and video quality.

Although Galaxy S20 FE is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Galaxy S20 FE, else you can save some dollars and buy the Google Pixel 3a XL, giving up a couple specifications.
