Comparison review
The Galaxy S20 is way better than Google Pixel 3a XL, with a general score of 94.8 against 78.9. Galaxy S20's body is newer, a bit lighter and a little bit thinner than Google Pixel 3a XL. These devices come with Android operating system, but Galaxy S20 has a more recent 13 version and Google Pixel 3a XL has Android 11 version.
Galaxy S20 features a bit better processor than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Galaxy S20 also has more RAM memory. The Samsung Galaxy S20 features a brighter screen than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has a little bit bigger screen, a higher pixels density and a higher 1440 x 3200 resolution.
The Galaxy S20 has a much greater memory capacity to install games and applications than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has an external memory card slot that admits a maximum of 1000 GB and more internal memory. Samsung Galaxy S20 has just a bit better battery lifetime than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 features a superior camera than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a worse resolution back-facing camera, and they both have the same diafragm aperture, the Samsung Galaxy S20 also counts with a much larger camera sensor which offers a way better photo and video quality and a lot better 7680x4320 video resolution.
Although Galaxy S20 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy S20, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Google Pixel 3a XL, giving up some features and specifications.
