Sony Xperia 5 II has a global score of 87.2, which is much better than Samsung Galaxy S4's global score of 79. Sony Xperia 5 II's construction has the same thickness than the Samsung Galaxy S4, but it's a lot heavier. Samsung Galaxy S4 features a slightly better display than Sony Xperia 5 II, although it has a little bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080px, a quite smaller display and a just a little lower quantity of pixels per inch in the screen.
Xperia 5 II features just a little better performance than Galaxy S4, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores and a higher amount of RAM. The Xperia 5 II takes much better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy S4, because although it has a back camera with a worse resolution, it also counts with a way bigger camera aperture for better photos and videos in poorly lited situations, a way better video definition and a lot larger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.

Xperia 5 II counts with a way better battery performance than Galaxy S4, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 2600mAh.
Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy S4, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy S4. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S4, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your money.
