The Xperia Z5 Premium is a little bit better than Galaxy S4, with a global score of 79.8 against 79. The Xperia Z5 Premium design has the same thickness than the Galaxy S4, but it's incredibly heavier. These phones include Android OS, but Xperia Z5 Premium has the newer 5.1 version and Galaxy S4 has Android 4.4, giving you a couple additional features and improved performance.
The Xperia Z5 Premium features a much better looking screen than Galaxy S4, because it has way more pixels per inch of display, a little bigger screen and a way higher 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy S4, because it has a much better graphics processor working at 450 megahertz, a greater number of faster cores and more RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 counts with a bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has an external SD slot that supports 136 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a better camera than Galaxy S4, because it has a way higher (4K) video definition, a bigger aperture, a camera with a much higher 23 MP resolution and a much bigger camera sensor which gives a way higher photo and video quality.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features better battery life than Samsung Galaxy S4, because it has a 3430mAh battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy S4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy S4. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S4, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
