Comparison review
The Galaxy S5 is just a bit better than the HTC One M9, with an 80.8 score against 77.7. Even when the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M9 were released with only a few months difference, the Galaxy S5 is thinner and a little bit lighter. Both phones in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy S5 has 4.4.2 version while HTC One M9 has Android 5.0.
The HTC One M9 has a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have 3 GB of RAM memory, the HTC One M9 also has a greater number of cores (although slower), a better 600 MHz GPU and a 64-bits CPU. Galaxy S5 features a little more vivid display than HTC One M9, and although they both have the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Galaxy S5 also has a higher display pixels density and a little bigger display.
The HTC One M9's storage to install games and applications is just as good as the Galaxy S5 one, both of them have the same 32 GB internal storage and an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. The HTC One M9 counts with a battery life that's very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5 one, although the HTC One M9 also has a 2840mAh battery capacity.
HTC One M9 has a little bit better camera than Galaxy S5, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the same aperture and the same video frame rate, the HTC One M9 also has a back facing camera with more mega pixels and a bigger back camera sensor providing a higher image quality.
Although Galaxy S5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the HTC One M9. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy S5, else you can save some money and buy the HTC One M9, giving up a couple specs and features.
