Samsung Galaxy S5 is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, with an 80.8 score against 75.8. Samsung Galaxy S5 is an older phone than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, but it is a lot lighter and thinner anyway. Samsung Galaxy S5 counts with just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory, and they both have 4 CPU cores, the Samsung Galaxy S5 also counts with an extra graphics processor.
Samsung Galaxy S5 features a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, although it has a much lower resolution of 1920 x 1080, they both have a display with the same size and the same number of pixels in each inch in the display. Galaxy S7 Active has a little bit more storage for applications and games than Galaxy S5, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Galaxy S7 Active also has a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 200 GB.
Samsung Galaxy S5 takes just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has a way tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy S5 also counts with a camera with a way better 16 mega pixels resolution.
Galaxy S7 Active features a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy S5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity.
Although Galaxy S5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S7 Active. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Galaxy S5, else you can save some money and get the Galaxy S7 Active, letting go a couple features and specs.
