Comparison review
Sony Xperia 1 is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S5, having a score of 82.6 against 80.8. The Sony Xperia 1 is a heavier cellphone than Samsung Galaxy S5, but both have the same thickness. The Galaxy S5 has a little sharper screen than Sony Xperia 1, although it has a really smaller display, a lot lower 1920 x 1080 resolution and a quite worse display pixel density.
Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit superior CPU than Galaxy S5, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with a larger amount of RAM and a greater number of cores (and faster). Galaxy S5 takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a much tinier aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same sensor size, the Galaxy S5 also counts with faster video frame rates and a lot more megapixels back facing camera.
Sony Xperia 1 features a way bigger storage to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S5, because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The Sony Xperia 1 has better battery life than Galaxy S5, because it has a 3330mAh battery capacity instead of 2800mAh.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S5, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your money.
