Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is better than the Galaxy S5, having a global score of 93.3 against 80.8. Both of these devices have Android OS, but the Xperia 1 III has the previous 11 version while Galaxy S5 has Android 4.4.2. Xperia 1 III is a notably heavier device than Galaxy S5, but both are 0.32inches thick.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S5, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with 4 more cpu cores and a higher amount of RAM memory. The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a bit better screen than Sony Xperia 1 III, although it has a way smaller display, a much lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a little worse amount of pixels per inch of screen.
Xperia 1 III captures slightly better pictures and videos than Galaxy S5, because although it has a back-facing camera with a way worse 12 mega-pixels resolution and a lower 3840x2160 video resolution, it also counts with a lot larger camera sensor capturing way higher quality videos and photos and a lot bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low-light images.
The Xperia 1 III features a much better storage capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S5, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 1 TB and more internal memory capacity. Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a much better battery life than Galaxy S5, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy S5. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, else you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy S5, giving up a couple features and specs.
