Xiaomi Mi 8 has a global score of 83.3, which is slightly better than the Galaxy S5's 80.8 general score. The Xiaomi Mi 8 design is notably newer and just a bit thinner than the Galaxy S5's, although it's somewhat heavier. These phones use Android OS (Operating System), but Xiaomi Mi 8 has older 10 version and Galaxy S5 has Android 4.4.2.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy S5, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and a higher number of cores.
