Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a bit better than Galaxy S5 Sport, with a 78.7 score against 77.8. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro construction is way newer and thinner, but a little bit heavier than the Galaxy S5 Sport. Both of these phones come with Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has newer 8.0 Oreo version while Galaxy S5 Sport has Android 4.4.2 version.
Galaxy S5 Sport has a slightly better looking display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a little bit smaller screen, a way worse 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a just a little worse screen density. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a CPU that's just as good as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport one, because although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with a higher number of cores (although slower) and a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a superior storage for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with more internal memory. Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport takes just a bit better photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video definition, a F2.2 diafragm aperture and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport also has a back camera with way more mega-pixels and a larger camera sensor providing a better image quality.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a very superior battery life than Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 2800mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
