Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active's 75.8 overall score. Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a just a little lighter and way thinner cellphone than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, even though both of them were released with only a couple of months difference.
The Galaxy S7 Active features a little bit better looking display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1440 x 2560 resolution, the Galaxy S7 Active also counts with a just a bit better count of pixels per display inch. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a quite bigger memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit superior processor than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because it has 4 more cpu cores and a larger amount of RAM. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, although it has a way smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for capturing photographs and/or video in poorly lited environments, they both have a 12 MP resolution back camera, the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Galaxy S7 Active both feature quite similar battery durations.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy S7 Active. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S7 Active, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your money.
