Comparison review
The Galaxy S5 has an overall score of 80.8, which is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active's 75.8 score. Galaxy S5 is an older phone than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, but Samsung made it somewhat thinner and a lot lighter anyway. The Galaxy S5 has a bit sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, although it has a lot worse resolution of 1920 x 1080px, they both have a higher pixel quantity per inch of display and a screen of the same size.
Samsung Galaxy S5 counts with just a bit better performance than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has 1 GB less RAM, and they both have a Quad-Core processor, the Samsung Galaxy S5 also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. Galaxy S7 Active features slightly more storage to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal memory, the Galaxy S7 Active also has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 200 GB.
The Galaxy S7 Active has a way better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity. Galaxy S5 takes a little bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has a way tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for capturing images and videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Galaxy S5 also counts with a camera in the back with way more megapixels.
Although Samsung Galaxy S5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S5, else you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, resigning some specs and features.
