Comparison review
Xperia Z5 is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, getting a 77.6 score against 75.8. The Xperia Z5 is an older phone than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, but it is somewhat lighter and much thinner anyway. Xperia Z5 features a bit more powerful CPU than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has less RAM memory, it also counts with a larger number of cores and an additional graphics co-processor.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active counts with a bit sharper screen than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixel density and a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution. Xperia Z5 shoots much better photographs and videos than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not good for taking images or video in low light situations, and they both have the same video definition and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a lot better 23 mega-pixels resolution back facing camera.
The Xperia Z5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Active feature similar storage to install applications and games, both of them have a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 200 GB and equal 32 GB internal memory capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has a way better battery duration than Xperia Z5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia Z5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S7 Active. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Galaxy S7 Active, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
