The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a global score of 77.5, which is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active's 75.8 global score. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 construction is newer and noticeably thinner, but somewhat heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has a much sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a way smaller screen, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2560 resolution and a way better screen pixel density.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has a larger number of cores. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a slightly better camera than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, although it has a way smaller aperture, they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the same video frame rates and the same resolution back-facing camera.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a way bigger memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 128 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 96 GB more internal storage capacity. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features improved battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because it has a 5300mAh battery size against 4000mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a better device, it costs more than the Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S7 Active. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, else you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S7 Active, resigning a couple features and specifications.
