Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 1 has a global score of 82.6, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge's global score of 78.1. The Sony Xperia 1 body is way newer, but somewhat heavier and just a bit thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Sony Xperia 1 features a bit better processor than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a higher number of faster cores and a greater amount of RAM.
Sony Xperia 1 counts with a more vivid screen than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a bigger display, a bit greater quantity of pixels per inch of display and a higher resolution of 1644 x 3840. The Xperia 1 and Galaxy S7 edge have similar cameras, because although the Xperia 1 has worse 24 frames per second video frame rate and a tinier sensor shooting worse quality videos and pictures, and they both have a back facing camera with a 12 MP resolution and the same (4K) video definition, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture.
The Sony Xperia 1 has a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because it has 96 GB more internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 512 GB. The Galaxy S7 edge has just a bit longer battery performance than Xperia 1, because it has an 8 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia 1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, giving up some specifications.
