Comparison review
Galaxy S8 Active is a little bit better than Galaxy S7, getting a score of 81.9 against 79.5. The Galaxy S8 Active is a newer cellphone than Galaxy S7, although it's a lot thicker and noticeably heavier. The Galaxy S7 features just a bit better looking display than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a quite smaller display and a little lower 1440 x 2560 resolution, it also counts with a little bit higher pixel number per inch of screen.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features a superior memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy S7, because it has 32 GB more internal memory and a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 256 GB. Galaxy S8 Active features a bit superior processor than Samsung Galaxy S7, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S8 Active also has 4 more cpu cores.
The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S8 Active both count with very similar cameras, and although the Galaxy S8 Active has a smaller sensor, they both have a F1.7 diafragm aperture, the same video frame rate, a same resolution back-facing camera and the same (4K) video quality. Galaxy S8 Active features better battery performance than Galaxy S7, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy S7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S7. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy S7, giving up a couple specifications.
