Sony Xperia 5 II is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S7, getting an 87.2 score against 79.5. Sony Xperia 5 II's body has the same thickness than Samsung Galaxy S7, but it's a little heavier. Xperia 5 II features just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has a larger amount of RAM memory and a greater number of cores.

The Galaxy S7 features a brighter screen than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a little higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a higher pixels quantity per display inch. Xperia 5 II counts with a much better storage for games and applications than Galaxy S7, because it has a SD memory slot that admits up to 1000 GB and 96 GB more internal memory capacity.

The Xperia 5 II features longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. Xperia 5 II captures clearer videos and photos than Galaxy S7, and although they both have the same video quality, a same size aperture and the same resolution camera in the back, the Xperia 5 II also has higher 120 fps video frame rates and a lot larger sensor capturing lot higher quality videos and photographs.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy S7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S7. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5 II, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S7, giving up some features and specifications.
