Comparison review
Galaxy S7 is slightly better than Sony Xperia Z5, getting a overall score of 79.5 against 77.6. Even though the Galaxy S7 and the Sony Xperia Z5 were only released with a few months difference, the Galaxy S7 body is just a little bit lighter but also just a little bit thicker. The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a bit better screen than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixels density and a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution.
Galaxy S7 and Sony Xperia Z5 both have very similar memory for applications, games, photos and videos, both of them have exactly the same internal storage and a SD memory slot that admits up to 200 GB. The Sony Xperia Z5 has a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy S7, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with an additional graphics co-processor and more processing cores (although slower).
Samsung Galaxy S7 features a little longer battery lifetime than Xperia Z5, because it has a 3% larger battery size. The Sony Xperia Z5 shoots clearer videos and photos than Galaxy S7, because although it has a tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a much higher resolution back facing camera and a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality.
In addition to being the best phone of the ones in this comparison, the Galaxy S7 is also a bargain compared to the other devices.
