Comparison review
LG Velvet has a score of 87.1, which is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active's global score of 81.9. LG Velvet is a notably newer device, and it is also a lot thinner and somewhat lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. The LG Velvet features a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have the same number of cores, the LG Velvet also has more RAM memory.
The Galaxy S8 Active has a little more vivid screen than LG Velvet, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher 1440 x 2960px resolution and a higher screen density. The LG Velvet counts with a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and videos, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same (4K) video resolution, the LG Velvet also counts with a lot higher resolution back-facing camera and a lot larger back-facing camera sensor which gives a much higher image and video quality.
The LG Velvet counts with a very superior memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because it has 64 GB more internal storage and a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB. The LG Velvet has a bit better battery performance than Galaxy S8 Active, because it has a 4300mAh battery capacity against 4000mAh.
The LG Velvet costs a bit more money than Galaxy S8 Active, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
