The Galaxy S22 is better than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, having a overall score of 93.4 against 81.9. The Galaxy S22 is a notably newer cellphone, and it is also extremely thinner and lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a much lower resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a way worse pixels number per inch of screen, it also counts with a quite larger display.
The Galaxy S22 counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy S22 also has a greater amount of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S22 has a much better camera than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for shooting photographs or video in low-light situations, it also counts with a much better 7680x4320 video quality, a camera in the back with a lot higher 50 mega pixels resolution and a way larger back-facing camera sensor taking way higher quality videos and photographs.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active counts with a bit more storage for games and applications than Galaxy S22, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that admits a maximum of 256 GB. Galaxy S8 Active has a little better battery life than Galaxy S22, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3700mAh.
Although Galaxy S22 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy S8 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S8 Active. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Galaxy S22, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S8 Active, letting go a couple specs and features.
