Comparison review
The Galaxy S9 has a global score of 83.3, which is just a bit better than Galaxy S8 Active's 81.9 overall score. Galaxy S9's construction is somewhat thinner and lighter than Galaxy S8 Active, even though both were only released 7 months apart. Galaxy S9 has a screen that's just as good as the display in Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, both have a screen of the same size, the same exact resolution of 1440 x 2960 and the same screen pixel density.
The Galaxy S9 counts with a little bit more memory for games and applications than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Galaxy S9 also has an external memory slot that supports up to 400 GB. The Galaxy S9 has a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy S8 Active. Both of them have a 4 GB RAM and 8 CPU cores.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features greater battery life than Galaxy S9, because it has a 4000mAh battery size. Galaxy S9 takes clearer photos and videos than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a same resolution back camera, a 0.39 inches back camera sensor and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Galaxy S9 also has higher video frame rate and a bigger aperture to capture better captures in low-light environments.
