Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is a little bit better than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, having a general score of 81.9 against 79.8. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is a newer cellphone than the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, but it is a lot thicker and heavier. Xperia Z5 Premium has a more vivid display than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better 3840 x 2160 resolution and a better number of pixels per inch in the screen.
Galaxy S8 Active features a lot bigger memory for games and applications than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 256 GB and 64 GB internal memory capacity. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a bit better CPU than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with an extra GPU.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium shoots a little bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is worse for capturing images and/or video in low light environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a bigger sensor taking better quality videos and photos and a much more megapixels back camera.
The Galaxy S8 Active has a little better battery life than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a 17 percent more battery capacity.
Despite of being the best phone of the ones we compare here, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is also by far the cheapest, making it a no doubt choice.
