IPhone 11 Pro Max has a score of 85.3, which is just a bit better than Galaxy S8's 81.7 overall score. The iPhone 11 Pro Max body is much newer than the Galaxy S8's, but it's a little thicker and heavier. IPhone 11 Pro Max has just a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has a little bit lower 1242 x 2688 pixels resolution and a just a little lower screen density, it also counts with a little larger display.
Galaxy S8 features a superior memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than iPhone 11 Pro Max, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Galaxy S8 also has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 256 GB. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max features a better CPU than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has an inferior number of cores , and they both have the same RAM amount, the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max also counts with a 64 bits processing unit.
IPhone 11 Pro Max has improved battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy S8, because it has 3969mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh. IPhone 11 Pro Max has a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low-light photography and video, and they both have the same back-facing camera sensor size, the same resolution back facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the iPhone 11 Pro Max also counts with higher 60 fps video frame rate.
Although iPhone 11 Pro Max is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy S8. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy iPhone 11 Pro Max, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S8, giving up some specs and features.
