Galaxy S8 has a global score of 81.7, which is slightly better than Huawei Mate 20's 79.5 general score. The Galaxy S8 construction is lighter and a bit thinner than Huawei Mate 20, even though it was released just a little over a year before. Galaxy S8 has a bit sharper display than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2960 and more pixels per inch in the screen.
Samsung Galaxy S8 counts with just a bit more storage capacity for apps and games than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 256 GB. The Huawei Mate 20 features a little faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy S8. Both have 4 GB of RAM memory and the same number of cores.
Huawei Mate 20 captures clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for shooting pictures and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same video frame rates, a back facing camera with a 12 mega-pixels and the same (4K) video definition, the Huawei Mate 20 also counts with a bigger back-facing camera sensor capturing higher quality videos and photos.
