The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has an overall score of 82.9, which is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S8's 81.7 score. Huawei Mate 20 Pro's design is newer, but heavier and a little bit thicker than Samsung Galaxy S8. Samsung Galaxy S8 has a bit sharper display than Huawei Mate 20 Pro, because although it has a bit lower 1440 x 2960px resolution and a quite smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher display density.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro counts with a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro captures much better photos and videos than Galaxy S8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also counts with a much more MP back camera and a much larger back camera sensor taking way better quality videos and pictures.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has just a bit bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei Mate 20 Pro, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a way better battery lifetime than Galaxy S8, because it has a 40% more battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy S8. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Huawei Mate 20 Pro, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S8, resigning some specifications.
