Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy S8 is a bit better than the Huawei P40 Lite, getting an 81.7 score against 79.5. Samsung Galaxy S8 is an notably older cellphone than Huawei P40 Lite, but Samsung could make it lighter and just a bit thinner. Samsung Galaxy S8 has a little more vivid display than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2960px resolution and a higher screen density.
The Galaxy S8 features a bit more memory capacity for applications and games than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 256 GB. The Huawei P40 Lite's processor is very similar to the processing unit in Galaxy S8, and although the Huawei P40 Lite has a larger amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 CPU cores.
Huawei P40 Lite takes much clearer pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8, because although it has a tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a lot more megapixels camera in the back and a much bigger camera sensor shooting lot higher quality videos and photos.
The Huawei P40 Lite has a really longer battery lifetime than Galaxy S8, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity.
Even being the best phone of the ones in this comparison, the Galaxy S8 is also by far the cheapest one, which makes it an obvious call.
