Comparison review

Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than Galaxy S8, having an 82.6 score against 81.7. Sony Xperia 1's design is noticeably newer, but just a little bit thicker and heavier than Galaxy S8. Sony Xperia 1 features a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy S8, because it has a quite bigger display, a higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a bit greater pixels amount per display inch.

The Xperia 1 features just a bit better performance than Galaxy S8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM. The Xperia 1 counts with a much greater memory capacity for apps and games than Galaxy S8, because it has more internal storage capacity and a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB.

Xperia 1 features just a little better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy S8, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity. The Xperia 1 has a camera that's very similar to Galaxy S8's camera, because although the Xperia 1 has a smaller sensor taking lower quality videos and images and lower 24 frames per second video frame rate, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and a back camera with a 12 MP, it also counts with a larger diafragm aperture.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S8. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1, otherwise you can save some money and get the Galaxy S8, resigning a couple specs and features.
