The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a notably newer phone than Samsung Galaxy S9, although it is just a bit thicker and extremely heavier. Galaxy S21 Ultra counts with a more vivid display than Galaxy S9, because although it has a little less pixels per inch in the screen, it also counts with a quite better 1440 x 3200 resolution and a larger display.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a quite bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy S21 Ultra, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 400 GB. The Galaxy S21 Ultra features a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S9, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Galaxy S21 Ultra also has a greater amount of RAM memory.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy S9, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for shooting pictures in low light situations, it also counts with a way larger back-facing camera sensor providing a way better image quality, a much better 7680x4320 video quality and a much more mega-pixels camera in the back.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra counts with a superior battery performance than Galaxy S9, because it has a 5000mAh battery size against 3000mAh.

Although Galaxy S21 Ultra is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S9. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy Galaxy S9, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
