The Galaxy XCover 5 is slightly better than Galaxy Alpha, with a 78.1 score against 76.3. Both phones we compare here work with Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy XCover 5 has older 11 version while Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4. The Galaxy XCover 5 construction is a lot heavier and much thicker than the Galaxy Alpha.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a much better looking display than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a little bit worse resolution of 1280 x 720px and a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a little higher screen pixels density. The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 counts with a much bigger memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 64 GB internal storage capacity and an external SD slot that allows up to 1 TB.
The Galaxy Alpha has a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has less cpu cores and 2 GB lesser RAM, it also counts with a graphics processing unit. Samsung Galaxy Alpha shoots a bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a lot worse resolution back facing camera and a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for low light photos, it also counts with a way higher 3840x2160 video resolution.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 counts with a very superior battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 3000mAh battery size instead of 1860mAh.
