The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is slightly better than the Galaxy XCover 5, with a score of 79 against 78.1. Both phones in this review have Android operating system, but the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has the newer 8.0 Oreo version and Galaxy XCover 5 has Android 11. Even though Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is way older and thicker than the Galaxy XCover 5, it's design is still just a bit lighter.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with an incredibly better looking screen than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a way higher amount of pixels per inch in the screen and a lot higher 1080 x 2160px resolution. The Galaxy XCover 5 has more storage capacity to install applications and games than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a SD extension slot that holds up to 1 TB.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact features a bit faster processor than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5. Both have the same RAM amount and 8 processing cores. Xperia XZ2 Compact captures much better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not so good for capturing photos and/or video in low light environments, it also counts with a more mega-pixels back-facing camera and a much better video resolution.
The Galaxy XCover 5 has just a little bit longer battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 3000mAh battery capacity instead of 2870mAh.
