Both of these phones include Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy XCover FieldPro has the newer 8.0 Oreo version and Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4, giving you some additional features and performance optimizations. Even being the best cellphone we are comparing here, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro body is noticeably heavier and a lot thicker than Galaxy Alpha.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy Alpha, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of cores and more RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with a bit sharper display than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a much higher screen pixel density, a lot better 1440 x 2560 resolution and a little bigger display.

Galaxy XCover FieldPro has a superior memory to install applications and games than Galaxy Alpha, because it has an external memory card slot that supports up to 512 GB and more internal storage. Samsung Galaxy Alpha shoots much better photographs and videos than Galaxy XCover FieldPro, because although it has a way tinier aperture, and they both have a 12 mega-pixels back-facing camera, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha also counts with a way better (4K) video resolution.

Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with a superior battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 1860mAh.

Although Galaxy XCover FieldPro is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Alpha. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy XCover FieldPro, else you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy Alpha, giving up a couple specifications.
