Comparison review
The Xperia 1 II is slightly better than the Galaxy Z Flip, getting a 91 score against 88.5. Xperia 1 II's construction is just a bit thicker but just a little bit lighter than the Galaxy Z Flip, and they were released only a couple of months apart. Both devices we compare here include Android OS, but the Xperia 1 II has the previous 11 version while Galaxy Z Flip has Android 12 version.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip counts with a bit better CPU than Xperia 1 II. Both of them have a Octa-Core processing unit and 8 GB of RAM. The Xperia 1 II counts with a better looking display than Galaxy Z Flip, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher 1644 x 3840 resolution and a lot greater pixel amount per display inch.
Sony Xperia 1 II has much more memory for games and applications than Galaxy Z Flip, and although they both have equal 256 GB internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia 1 II also has a SD card slot that allows up to 1000 GB. The Sony Xperia 1 II captures clearer photographs and videos than Galaxy Z Flip, and although they both have the same resolution camera in the back, the same (4K) video resolution and the same 60 frames per second video frame rate, the Sony Xperia 1 II also has a bigger aperture and a much bigger sensor which gives a way better photo and video quality.
