Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, having a 94.6 score against 78.9. These phones come with the same Android 11 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't notice any differences regarding that. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is heavier than Google Pixel 3a XL, it's somewhat thinner and also newer.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with just a bit better display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a quite lower pixels density, it also counts with a bigger screen and a better resolution of 1768 x 2208px. Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a bit more powerful CPU than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a way bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has 256 GB internal storage capacity. Galaxy Z Fold 2 has superior battery duration than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has a 22 percent greater battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 captures clearer videos and photos than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a back camera with a worse 12 mega pixels resolution, and they both have a same size diafragm aperture, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 also counts with a much larger sensor which provides a much higher photo and video quality.
Although Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Google Pixel 3a XL, giving up some features and specifications.
