The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a global score of 94.6, which is better than the Galaxy Note8's overall score of 83. Although the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a lot heavier than the Galaxy Note8, it's way thinner and also newer. These phones use Android operating system, but Galaxy Z Fold 2 has older 11 version while Galaxy Note8 has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Galaxy Note8 features a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher pixels amount per inch in the screen and a slightly better 1440 x 2960px resolution. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with a bit faster CPU than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 also has a larger amount of RAM memory.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 features just a bit better camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not recommended for taking pictures and videos in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same resolution camera in the back and the same (4K) video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 also counts with higher 60 fps video frame rates and a way larger sensor providing a way better image quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory. Galaxy Z Fold 2 has longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.
Although Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy Note8. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Galaxy Z Fold 2, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Note8, giving up some specifications.
