Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a little bit better than Sony Xperia 1 III, having a 94.6 score against 93.3. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 body is somewhat thinner than the Sony Xperia 1 III, although it's heavier and was released only 10 months before. These phones use the same Android 11 OS (operating system).
The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a much better display than Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater quantity of pixels per inch in the display and a higher 1644 x 3840 resolution. Sony Xperia 1 III features a superior memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, and although they both have exactly the same 256 GB internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a SD card slot that allows up to 1 TB.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features just a little better processing power than Xperia 1 III. They have the same number of cores and a 12 GB RAM. Xperia 1 III counts with a battery performance that's very similar to the battery life in Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Xperia 1 III features just a bit better camera than Galaxy Z Fold 2, and although they both have a 12 mega pixels resolution back camera and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia 1 III also has a larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a higher photo and video quality, higher 120 fps video frame rates and a bigger diafragm aperture.
Although Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xperia 1 III, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xperia 1 III. If you prefer to save some money, you can get Xperia 1 III, letting go a few features and specifications, but you will get the most with your savings.
