Comparison review

The Motorola PHOTON 4G has an overall score of 57.5, which is just a bit better than Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G's 52.5 global score. The Motorola PHOTON 4G body is a bit lighter and notably thinner than the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G, even when both of them were released with only a couple months difference. Both of these devices come with Android operating system, but Motorola PHOTON 4G has older 2.3 version and Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G has Android 2.3.3.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G has a bit sharper screen than Motorola PHOTON 4G, although it has a little bit worse pixels number per screen inch, a quite smaller display and a quite lower resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The Motorola PHOTON 4G features a much bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G, and although they both have a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 32 GB, the Motorola PHOTON 4G also has more internal storage capacity.

Motorola PHOTON 4G counts with a little longer battery lifetime than Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G, because it has a 1700mAh battery capacity.

The Motorola PHOTON 4G has a much better camera than Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G, because it has a way higher (Full HD) video definition and a camera in the back with a much higher resolution.

Despite of being the best phone of the ones we compare here, Motorola PHOTON 4G is also very cheap compared to the other ones, which makes this phone an obvious call.
