Xperia 1 II is much better than the HTC One M9, having a global score of 91 against 77.7. The Xperia 1 II body is way newer and thinner than the HTC One M9's, but it is also somewhat heavier. Both of these phones come with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia 1 II has the newer 11 version while HTC One M9 has Android 5.0 version, so it counts with some nice extra features.
The HTC One M9 counts with just a little better processing power than Sony Xperia 1 II, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the HTC One M9 also counts with a GPU and a 64-bits CPU. The HTC One M9 has a little bit better screen than Xperia 1 II, although it has a lot worse 1920 x 1080 resolution, a much worse screen pixels density and a really smaller display.
The Xperia 1 II features a way bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than HTC One M9, because it has a SD card slot that allows up to 1000 GB and more internal storage capacity. Xperia 1 II features a way better battery duration than HTC One M9, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Sony Xperia 1 II captures just a bit better videos and photos than HTC One M9, because although it has a worse (4K) video definition and a way less mega pixels resolution camera in the back, it also counts with a way larger camera aperture and a way bigger sensor which provides a way better photo and video quality.
