Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is just a bit better than the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, with a global score of 93.3 against 85.5. These phones include the same Android 11 operating system. Even when the Xperia 1 III and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip were released with only a couple months difference, the Xperia 1 III is somewhat thinner and lighter.
Xperia 1 III features a bit better hardware performance than Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xperia 1 III also has more RAM. Sony Xperia 1 III features a little more vivid screen than Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater display pixel density and a way higher resolution of 1644 x 3840.
