Xperia 1 III is better than Google Pixel 3a, getting a 93.3 score against 78.8. Xperia 1 III is a notably heavier cellphone than Google Pixel 3a, but they are equally thin. These phones work with the same Android 11 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding that. The Sony Xperia 1 III features a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has 8 GB more RAM memory.
Xperia 1 III features a more vivid screen than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a bigger screen, a greater pixels density and a way better 1644 x 3840 resolution. Xperia 1 III counts with a lot bigger storage for applications and games than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 1 TB and more internal storage capacity.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a really longer battery life than Google Pixel 3a, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity. Xperia 1 III shoots much better pictures and videos than Google Pixel 3a, because although it has a worse 12 mega pixels resolution camera and a lower (4K) video quality, it also counts with a lot larger back-facing camera sensor shooting way higher quality pictures and a larger camera aperture.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 3a. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Google Pixel 3a, giving up some features and specs.
