Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is much better than Google Pixel 4a, getting a 93.3 score against 82.9. Xperia 1 III's body has the same thickness than the Google Pixel 4a, but it's extremely heavier. Both phones in this comparison work with the same Android 11 OS, so both of them should give identical OS features.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a bit faster processor than Google Pixel 4a, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM. The Xperia 1 III features a sharper screen than Google Pixel 4a, because it has a greater display density, a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution and a little bit larger screen.
The Sony Xperia 1 III has a much better memory capacity for applications and games than Google Pixel 4a, because it has 128 GB more internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 1 TB. Xperia 1 III counts with a better camera than Google Pixel 4a, because although it has a worse 3840x2160 video resolution and a lower 12 MP resolution camera, and they both have a same size camera aperture, the Xperia 1 III also counts with a lot larger back-facing camera sensor shooting way better quality pictures.

Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Google Pixel 4a, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Google Pixel 4a. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia 1 III, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Google Pixel 4a, giving up some specifications.
