Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is better than Huawei P40 Lite's 79.5 score. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia 1 III has a newer 11 version and Huawei P40 Lite has Android 10 version, providing you lots of additional features. Xperia 1 III is a newer and just a little bit thinner phone than the Huawei P40 Lite, but it is also just a little heavier.
Xperia 1 III has a much better looking display than Huawei P40 Lite, because it has a lot higher screen pixel density, a much higher 1644 x 3840 resolution and a little bit larger display. The Sony Xperia 1 III has a much better storage for applications and games than Huawei P40 Lite, because it has 256 GB internal memory and an external memory slot that supports up to 1 TB.
Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a little bit better performance than Huawei P40 Lite, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Sony Xperia 1 III features just a bit better battery performance than Huawei P40 Lite, because it has a 7 percent bigger battery capacity.
Huawei P40 Lite has a camera that's very similar to the camera in Sony Xperia 1 III, because although the Huawei P40 Lite has lower 30 frames per second video frame rate, a smaller sensor and a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same (Full HD) video definition, it also counts with a back facing camera with way more megapixels.
Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Huawei P40 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Huawei P40 Lite. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Huawei P40 Lite, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
